Job Title: Virtual Special Education Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with mild, moderate, or severe disabilities. As a Virtual Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student, delivering engaging and differentiated instruction, and collaborating with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement IEPs that meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction and support to students with mild, moderate, or severe disabilities.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction accordingly to meet goals outlined in the IEP.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in academic, social, and emotional skills development.
  • Utilize virtual tools and platforms to facilitate learning, assessments, and communication.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and compliance with special education laws and regulations.
  • Participate in virtual IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • South Dakota state teaching certification in Special Education is required.
  • Previous experience working with students with disabilities, ideally in an online or hybrid setting.
  • Strong understanding of IEP processes, special education law, and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in using virtual teaching platforms and technology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, parents, and school teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to new technologies and learning environments.
