About the Job

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at GIL Foundation. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with disabilities to lead self-directed lives and contribute to their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent care and assistance for individuals with disabilities living in their own homes.
  • Assist with daily living skills and activities, such as banking, recreational outings, and grocery shopping.
  • Monitor and support safety for individuals with disabilities, including administering medications and attending doctor visits.
  • Support meal planning, cooking, and other preparations in accordance with dietary and nutritional guidelines.
  • Provide safe transportation into the community, including driving an oversize multi-passenger van.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work with positivity in teams as well as independently.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to lift and transfer heavy weights, up to 100 pounds, with or without adaptive equipment.
  • State Medication Administration Certification (Group Home Workers Only) and First Aid for Accidents certifications required.
