Job Summary

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in the Neonatology department at CoxHealth, working collaboratively with physicians to provide advanced nursing care and treatment to patients. This position requires a strong clinical decision-making skillset, with the ability to evaluate performance and develop treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive patient care, including physical examinations, diagnostic testing, and medication management.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, taking into account patient needs and medical history.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for enhanced care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education
    • Masters of Science in Nursing
  • Experience
    • Required: Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Degree
    • Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams
    • Proficient computer skills
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
    • Required: MO Nurse Practitioner license
    • BLS within 90 days of hire
  • Credentialing
    • Successful completion of all department-specific credentialing within the first 90 days of employment
