Job Summary:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, family-centered healthcare to patients in our busy level III NICU and several level II special care nurseries. This role requires a strong clinical practice, education, and consultation expertise, with a focus on promoting excellence in neonatology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care as outlined in the Collaboration Agreement, setting an example for future practitioners and maintaining a clinical practice in neonatology to enhance clinical proficiency.
  • Participate in didactic and clinical teaching for residency, providing continuing education programs in neonatology for clinical faculty and practicing physicians.
  • Assist the Division Director in promoting and developing a comprehensive neonatology program, serving on committees as assigned by the Medical Director or Division Director.
  • Participate in scholarly activities and promote development of academic or research activities related to neonatology to enhance the academic environment of the Division.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Proof of current licensure as an Advanced Practical Nurse, including proof of current licensure as a registered professional nurse in Illinois.
  • Certification as a nurse practitioner by the National Certification Corporation, ACNN.
  • National certification as a neonatal nurse practitioner.
  • Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
