Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Officer to join our Governance practice area at Counterpart International. The successful candidate will provide critical support to our program teams, ensuring the successful implementation of our democracy and governance programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support program teams in developing and implementing technical activities, including mobilization plans, workplans, monitoring, evaluation, and learning plans.
  • Collaborate with program teams to ensure technical compliance of award and contract deliverables and requirements.
  • Develop high-quality technical reports, including drafting, reviewing, and copy-editing.
  • Monitor and track budget projections and spending to ensure effective and efficient implementation of resources.
  • Support the development of technical scopes of work for program partners, grants, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning team to provide technical support to program teams.
  • Monitor and analyze political and other related developments specific to the countries and projects under their portfolio.
  • Support operational management of field programs during start-up, implementation, and close-out.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, international development, international business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of project management experience, with familiarity with USAID's policies and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with US government-funded projects, preferably USAID.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of diverse teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, with additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Arabic being strongly preferred.
