Job Summary

The Maryland Department of Transportation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Data and Business Development Officer to lead the Data Management and Business Development team. This is a senior leadership position that requires a strong understanding of data analytics, business development, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data management policies and procedures to support business development initiatives
  • Lead the development of business cases and proposals to support data-driven decision making
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize business development opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including state and federal agencies, industry partners, and academia
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the MVA Administrator and other senior leaders on data-driven decision making and business development initiatives
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, political science, planning, or data analysis
  • 6 years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, and operational improvement
  • 3 years of supervision or management experience
  • U.S. Armed Forces military service experience may be substituted for required education and experience on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in computer science, business administration, political science, planning, or data analysis
  • Experience with data management and business development in a state or federal agency
  • Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools and technologies
