About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team at Rutland Regional Medical Center. As a key member of our Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of our experienced providers and leadership team, you will assist in the treatment and care of psychiatric patients, adhering to established methods and procedures.
  • You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
  • With a strong focus on patient-centered care, you will provide emotional support, guidance, and education to patients and their families, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and detailed records of patient interactions, observations, and care provided, under the direct supervision of our team.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in health or mental health care is highly desirable, with a Certificate in mental health technology or a related field being a significant advantage.
  • You will be required to obtain BLS Certification through the American Heart Association and complete an endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification within one month of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal and observation skills, as well as the ability to remain calm and think effectively in high-stress situations, are essential for this role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with moderate knowledge of basic computer skills, are also required.
