Job Summary

At Rutland Regional Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Psychiatric Services Inpatient Unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of licensed providers, leadership, or RNs, you will perform various duties to assist in the treatment and care of psychiatric patients.
  • You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote patient well-being and recovery.
  • As a Mental Health Care Specialist, you will be responsible for observing and reporting patient care observations, deviations from patient plans of care, and other pertinent information under direct supervision.
  • You will also be expected to maintain accurate and detailed records of patient interactions and progress.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Mental Health Technician or related patient care technician.
  • Certificate in mental health technology or a related field (such as licensed nursing assistant) is preferred.
  • BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Completion of an endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and observation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
