Position Overview:
This role is situated within the Facilities division of Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC (HDMA). The Facilities division oversees the infrastructure, including new constructions, renovations, utility management (electricity, compressed air, natural gas, water), maintenance, and upgrades of aging equipment. Our goal is to maintain a facility that reflects our pride and serves our clientele effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on various systems and equipment (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and building controls). Complete daily work orders and communicate any necessary follow-up actions.
- Assess and propose enhancements to equipment to boost availability, performance, and efficiency. Revise preventative maintenance schedules to ensure optimal upkeep of facilities equipment.
- Perform failure analysis on equipment, including both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues.
- Engage in a reliability-centered maintenance program for equipment. Collaborate with team members to foster long-term equipment reliability and support total equipment management through proactive measures to enhance operations and meet business objectives.
- Provide mentorship and foster teamwork through effective communication and knowledge sharing. Enhance and maintain technical expertise through formal training and hands-on opportunities. Participate in initiatives that encourage innovation and the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve competitiveness.
Candidate Profile:
Essential Experience:
Preferred: 3 years of experience in a facilities management setting (industrial or heavy commercial). Entry-level candidates with relevant qualifications will also be considered.
Required Education:
Completion of a 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience in equipment servicing.
Preferred Skills:
Proficient understanding of low and medium voltage electrical systems (including substations, switches, cables, starters, VFDs, MCC, breakers, bus duct) and Building Management Systems.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, air compressors, air dryers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, plumbing, and piping.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to articulate ideas clearly.
Adherence to Honda's Health and Safety Policies.
Basic computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Self-driven, innovative thinker with a positive attitude, committed to continuous improvement and customer service.
Effective time management skills to minimize distractions and focus on task completion.
Ability to plan and prioritize work assignments, submit schedules, and establish clear milestones and deadlines.
Capability to gather and analyze relevant data, identify root causes, and devise effective solutions.
