Job Summary

We're seeking a skilled Buyer/Planner to join our team, someone who can navigate the ever-changing landscape of today's supply chain with ease. As a strong leader and communicator, you'll be responsible for providing the company with the necessary supplies to meet our customer demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure inventory levels are sufficient to support manufacturing and customer sales, while aligning inventory levels with financial objectives for safety stock levels.
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of vendor quotes, purchase orders, requests for quotes, evaluation of bids, and vendor bill entry, as well as selecting freight carriers and expediting shipments when required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors, focusing on competitive pricing, accurate lead times, product specifications, and vendor performance, while ensuring high levels of quality on all products.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Inventory, and Accounting Teams to accurately track inventory levels, BOM costs, obsolete inventory management from ECOs, and new product introduction item requirements.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for purchase requests, quality control for inbound and outbound shipments, new product SKU creation, and part naming conventions, and aid in the ongoing development of the company's ERP system.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or minimum 2-5 years experience in production planning, purchasing, inventory management, and/or logistics in a start-up or small manufacturing company.
  • Strong planning and forecasting skills, with knowledge of ERP systems and basic principles of their applications.
  • Experience in environments dealing with sanitary fitting, electronics, stainless steel fabrication, barcoding, and automation is a plus.
  • Informed and confident decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ongoing supply chain changes and adapt as necessary.
  • Experience importing goods internationally, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead team and delegate tasks as necessary, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and Google Workspace.
  • Knowledge of DoT guidelines, UL requirements, and OSHA standards, with a comfortable working environment in an open and collaborative setting.
