We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Companion Animal Department Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales growth in our Companion Animal department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales and effective operations within the aquatics, reptile, bird, and small companion animals category
  • Ensure the health, proper handling, and welfare of all live animals and merchandise
  • Manage inventory levels, supply costs, and reported budgeted expense rates to achieve departmental budgeted sales goals and gross margin targets
  • Lead and coach store partners in providing great guest service and performing assigned tasks to achieve budgeted sales
  • Ensure OSE standards are maintained in the department and provide training and coaching in GUEST and product knowledge to partners
  • Partner with the Inventory Leader to ensure in-stock levels and achieve minimum presentation standards at all times in aquatics
  • Effectively organize and price clearance merchandise for the department and assist the SL/GEL in planning location changes to maximize sales
  • Communicate all situations and conditions to the SL/GEL that affect the store and ensure the proper handling and documentation for all Adoption Animals
Requirements
  • Directly supervise all Aquatics partners and provide guidance and training to partners
  • Complete performance evaluations for partners and adhere to and promote established safety procedures
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, and standing for long periods of time
