Key Responsibilities:


- Assist in conducting screenings and treatments by gathering health maintenance information, collecting samples, performing tests, and documenting patient care.

- Update health maintenance records during patient visits, accurately identifying medication changes and updating allergy information.

- Monitor and communicate any changes in patient conditions. Administer specific medications under the direction of the healthcare provider.

- Maintain medical equipment and supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.

- Ensure examination areas are kept in optimal condition.

- Support pre-visit planning by updating health maintenance information.

- Perform assigned administrative or clerical tasks, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

- Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- Military training as a Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic, or Medical Service Technician will be considered.
- Current clinical proficiency is required.
- Completion of a clinical externship is preferred (extensive clinical experience may be considered in lieu of formal externship).

Certifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is required within 90 days of hire. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants is preferred.
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is required during the new hire period.

Work Environment:
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate actions.

Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- May require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting.
- Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision.


Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Walking or standing will be required to a significant degree; sitting, pushing, and/or pulling of arm or leg controls may also be necessary.

Personal Protective Equipment:
- Adhere to standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
