Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Hospital Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR) at Virginia Commonwealth University. As an academic faculty member, you will play a crucial role in providing direct pediatric patient care, enhancing clinical education, and promoting patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Mentorship: Provide education and mentorship to medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as ancillary staff as needed.
2. Service: Serve on hospital or departmental committees, engage in professional activities, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
3. Clinical: Provide clinical service as a Pediatric Hospitalist for the Department of Pediatrics, working evenings, nights, weekends, and taking call as designated.
4. Administrative: Take on administrative duties, including engagement in pediatric committees, resource coordination, and collaboration with directors and providers.

Requirements:

Eligibility for medical licensure in Virginia
Drug Enforcement Agency licensure
Credentialing at VCUH
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Demonstrated experience working in a diverse environment
Board certification in pediatrics or internal medicine-pediatrics

Preferred Qualifications:

Two or more years of clinical experience in pediatric hospital medicine
Completion of Pediatric Fellowship training
Tracking toward Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Pediatric Hospital Medicine
Prior leadership experience or program development in pediatric hospital medicine
Prior quality improvement initiative development
