Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Specialist

The Department of Anesthesiology at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional anesthetic care to pediatric patients at VCU Health CHOR.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care to pediatric patients.
2. Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Department Chair or delegate.
3. Participate in teaching programs, including bedside clinical teaching of residents, medical students, and student nurse anesthetists.
4. Pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently, within the guidelines of the Institution and Department.
Requirements:
1. MD or DO degree.
2. ABA Board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialty training and certification in pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
3. Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
4. Eligible for employment in the United States.
5. Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills.
6. Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
