We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Assistant to join our team at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and students to provide exceptional support to students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in the instruction of individual EC students or groups of EC students in all curricular areas.
- Collect and document data to track individual student progress on IEP goals.
- Collaborate with teachers to devise instructional strategies and plans.
- Operate and maintain equipment and materials for both classroom and individual students.
- Supervise and assist during emergency drills, assemblies, and other designated activities.
- Act as a bus monitor for EC students as needed.
- Alert teachers to any problems or special information about individual students.
- Participate in in-service training programs for professional growth.
- Assist with checking materials, portfolios, and other tasks as directed by the teacher.
- Support school routines and transitions.
- Assist with student attendance procedures, record keeping, and other duties as assigned.
- Provide physical assistance to students as needed in areas such as self-help, clothing, and toileting.
We are looking for a candidate with prior elementary experience and a strong background in working with exceptional children. The ideal candidate will possess excellent collaboration skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
