Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Automation Systems HVAC Technician to join our team at ABM Industries. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and integrating the Building Automation System (BAS) and working closely with Facility Management to maintain the logics, equipment, and daily monitoring operations of the BAS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze performance, inventory control, and quality assurance to ensure optimal system operation.
  • Aid the onsite building operations team in daily troubleshooting and repairs of the HVAC systems, focusing on the BAS controls, DDC system components, and devices.
  • Co-monitor the operation of the BAS and HVAC systems, including alarm management, performance, programming, building occupancy schedules, temperature setpoints, lighting controls schedules, submeters, histories, trends, and other systems.
  • Consult with business unit management and personnel to identify and document service delivery needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
  • Input work orders in the Asset Essential CMMS system and complete self-assessed work orders in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Must have a Tridium AX & N-4 License or have the ability to obtain it within the first 60 days of work.
  • 2-10 years of experience with Trane, Tridium, Niagra, Distec, Johnson Controls Metasys, Rover, and Honeywell Building Automation System components repair.
  • Electronics or equivalent job experience in the controls industry.
  • Computer networking knowledge and skills.
  • CMMS experience preferred.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of DDC controls as they apply to the HVAC industry.
  • Interest in maintaining HVAC and DDC controls skills through self-study, corporate training, workshops, and other school or training development skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is dynamic, with occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level is usually moderate. The ability to climb ladders, stairs, and withstand heights is required.
