Project Overview:

Bechtel is collaborating with NextDecade on the Rio Grande LNG (RGLNG) project, aimed at providing lower carbon energy solutions. This facility, located on a 984-acre site, will feature multiple liquefaction trains and storage capabilities, significantly contributing to energy production.

Job Summary:

The Tanks Erection Superintendent will oversee and manage operations within the tank construction discipline. This role involves supervising craft personnel, ensuring compliance with specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Environmental Safety & Health initiatives within the tank and storage department, including the development and enforcement of safety protocols.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify and rectify unsafe conditions.
  • Coordinate safety training alongside the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.
  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring adherence to local and national safety regulations.
  • Monitor craft activities to guarantee compliance with project specifications and timelines.
  • Manage labor costs and optimize schedules to meet project deadlines.
  • Collaborate with Labor Relations for recruitment and training of craft personnel.
  • Review and validate subcontractor mobilization and demobilization plans.
  • Implement corporate policies and procedures within tank operations.
  • Provide input for quantity tracking and review weekly progress reports.
  • Prepare requisitions for necessary materials and coordinate procurement efforts.
  • Assist in construction testing as required.
  • Plan required manpower and equipment for project execution.
  • Compile reports on construction progress and personnel forecasts.
  • Conduct performance reviews and identify training opportunities for team members.
  • Coordinate with other discipline superintendents to achieve project goals.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in tank construction supervision, demonstrating strong leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
Essential Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of LNG tank construction methods, including materials and welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction specifications and industry standards.
  • Proficient in the use of construction equipment and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills.
