Job Title: Tax Senior Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Senior Manager to join our expanding State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a Tax Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex engagements, providing high-value quality tax advice, and driving growth and profitability of our industry/specialty area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage business relationships with clients, focusing on high-value quality tax advice and expanding services to clients.
  • Drive growth and profitability of our industry/specialty area by generating new revenue on existing client portfolios, cross-selling, and acquiring new clients for the tax practice.
  • Advise clients on nexus, unitary, and business income, multi-state tax planning, audit defense, M&A due diligence, and other state tax consulting in conjunction with the overall tax team.
  • Serve as a career advisor, mentor, or coach to one or more employees, providing honest and timely performance feedback.
  • Train and develop staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Work on multiple complex issues, communicating effectively with clients and the service team to manage risk and ensure excellent client service.
  • Interact directly with clients, handling questions, planning, consulting, and other tasks.
  • Serve as a Tax client service coordinator, developing and executing the firm's client service plan.
  • Review research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent with firm policies and professional standards.
  • Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service through an integrated service approach.
  • Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience providing income and franchise tax consulting services in a Public Accounting, Consulting, or Law Firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA, JD, LLM, or EA.
  • Ability to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, detail-oriented, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients.
  • Project management and critical thinking skills.
