Position Overview:

The Senior Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering technical engineering, design, economic, and analytical support to contribute to the formulation of long-term system strategies and the execution of engineering requests, proposals, and presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Conducts engineering tasks that require advanced skills and experience acquired through the application of engineering principles and analysis.

2) Assumes increasing responsibility for technical decisions and interpretations, providing guidance and leadership to team members as necessary.

3) May be required to work in shifts based on operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or a related applied science field from an accredited institution, along with five (5) years of relevant experience in engineering roles.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

- Proficient in problem analysis and resolution techniques.
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, practices, methods, and safety regulations in the relevant engineering field.
- Experience within the utility sector.
- Background in the nuclear industry for positions related to specific operational needs.
- Professional Engineer licensure is advantageous.

Responsibilities Include:

1) Developing engineering plans, designs, analyses, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, investigations, and verifications, ensuring compliance with design, regulatory, operational, and maintenance standards.

2) Collaborating with clients and various departments to ensure project objectives are clearly understood and that the scope of work aligns with customer requirements, budget, and timelines.

3) Enhancing departmental performance and productivity by analyzing and recommending improvements.

4) Potentially overseeing engineering technical programs, managing program requirements, and coordinating corrective actions to maintain program health.

5) Taking responsibility for small to medium-scale projects, including planning, designing, scheduling, and coordinating all project aspects, while identifying potential issues and initiating corrective measures.

6) Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers.

7) Staying updated on current technology and engineering advancements as well as industry trends.
