Responsibilities:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and guiding the site maintenance team to meet plant performance objectives through effective problem-solving, optimal labor utilization, timely repairs, and ongoing maintenance enhancements. This role is crucial in developing and managing a comprehensive predictive and preventive maintenance strategy. The individual in this position is expected to significantly enhance Run-Time Efficiency (RTE) and overall plant Uptime.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality assurance, high performance, and operational excellence.
  • Establish accountability for team and individual contributions towards problem resolution and cost efficiency.
  • Coordinate planned downtime with operational schedules to maximize machinery capabilities and uptime.
  • Maintain ISO-compliant maintenance documentation.
  • Assist in ensuring site regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee budget creation and expenditure management for the department.
  • Manage inventory and cost control for spare parts in the stockroom.
  • Provide training for backups and designated personnel in all relevant tasks.
  • Ensure a comprehensive understanding of and compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) policies among the team.
  • Identify, develop, and submit capital project proposals and monitor their completion.
  • Collaborate with Process Engineering to ensure production lines and dies are capable of producing high-quality products safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain electrical and mechanical systems as part of the predictive maintenance strategy.
  • Deliver training to operations technicians on maintenance practices associated with Total Productive Maintenance.
  • Participate as a member of the Emergency Response team, requiring training in Emergency Response, First Aid/CPR/Bloodborne Pathogens, and Fire Safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to fulfill each essential duty effectively. The qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Education: A high school diploma is required. A bachelor's degree in engineering or a related maintenance field is preferred. Six Sigma Black or Green Belt certification is advantageous. Professional certifications (CMRT or similar) are preferred. OSHA 30-hour certification is also preferred. Certification or eligibility for certification in CPR, First Aid, or Bloodborne Pathogens is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Physical/Cognitive Requirements: The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, frequent bending, stooping, and stretching; manual dexterity; the ability to distinguish letters; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds; and frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds. Candidates must be able to ascend and descend up to three flights of stairs in environments with fast-moving machinery. Safe access to fast-moving machinery, including rolls with inward nip points, is essential. The ability to work outside of regular hours in a 24/7/365 operational environment is also required.
