Position Summary:

The Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Director of Operations. This role involves collaboration to ensure that routine maintenance tasks for facilities and processes are executed in the safest, most efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Maintenance Supervisor will achieve this by assessing and refining existing processes, as well as designing and implementing new procedures or enhancements.

All responsibilities undertaken by the Maintenance Supervisor will strictly comply with OSHA regulations, internal policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and any other pertinent external regulations. The position necessitates strong communication abilities, both verbal and written, as close cooperation with upper management, supervisors, and technicians is crucial for the seamless operation of the facility. The Maintenance Supervisor must maintain composure under pressure, make informed decisions during emergencies, and play a vital role in time-sensitive situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain current SOPs for operators and maintenance personnel concerning preventative maintenance, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Oversee all aspects of maintenance, including ongoing equipment and facility upkeep.
  • Manage and maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts.
  • Acquire proficiency in utilizing Agility software.
  • Provide hands-on maintenance support while collaborating closely with maintenance technicians.
  • Employ critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to address facility and machinery issues.
  • Operate all machinery within the facility, understanding preventative maintenance and spare parts programs to minimize downtime.
  • Drive success in achieving production and volume targets, surpassing key performance indicators (KPIs), and actively contributing as a key member of the Operations Leadership Team.
  • Supervise and mentor the maintenance team to ensure their performance aligns with established standards.
  • Train other personnel in safety protocols and machinery operation and maintenance.
  • Review and enhance current maintenance processes to optimize efficiency while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Participate in the development of new facilities, including planning and implementing infrastructure and utility systems for future growth.
  • Maintain computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Facilitate the sharing of best practices with other ZND facilities.
  • Ensure the management of a comprehensive preventative maintenance program.
  • Oversee service agreements for major equipment and utilities.
  • Establish positive relationships with equipment vendors.
  • Supervise significant capital expenditure projects related to production and facilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective prioritization skills and the ability to delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Willingness to travel and coordinate with multiple facilities.
Education and Experience:
  • A college degree is preferred, though significant engineering experience will be considered.
  • Intermediate understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Capability to diagnose and repair electrical systems.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the manufacturing sector is preferred, with a hands-on approach.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to access and navigate all areas of the production facility.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Capability to lift at least 20 pounds at a time.
