Position Overview

As a Class A CDL Operator at St. Louis Composting, you will play a crucial role in our operations, contributing to the production of high-quality compost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport materials to various locations, including retail outlets and customer sites, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures are followed.
  • Maintain punctual deliveries by adhering to dispatch instructions and timelines.
  • Perform comprehensive pre-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Skillfully operate various types of trucks, including tractor trailers and dump trucks, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and DOT standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch to adapt to changing delivery requirements.
  • Be prepared for occasional out-of-town assignments while ensuring you return home on weekends.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Language Proficiency: Must be able to read and comprehend English.
  • CDL Requirements: Hold a valid Class A or B CDL (excluding California) with a current DOT medical certification.
  • Driving Record: Maintain a clean driving history with no DUIs or major violations, and a maximum of three at-fault incidents in the last three years.
  • Transmission Skills: Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles (some automatic options available).
  • Safety Focus: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in all job functions.
  • Weekend Availability: Willingness to work on Saturdays, especially during peak operational periods.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain in a seated or standing position for extended durations.
