Position Overview

As a Class A CDL Operator at St. Louis Composting, you will play a crucial role in our mission to produce high-quality compost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely transport materials to various locations, including retail outlets and customer sites, ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures are followed.
  • Maintain punctuality in deliveries by adhering to dispatch guidelines.
  • Perform comprehensive pre-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Skillfully operate a variety of vehicles, including tractor trailers, roll-offs, and dump trucks.
  • Comply with all relevant state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and DOT standards.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch and adjust to dynamic work conditions.
  • Be prepared for occasional out-of-town assignments while ensuring weekend availability.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Language Proficiency: Must be able to read and comprehend English.
  • CDL Certification: Valid Class A or B CDL with a current DOT medical card (excludes California).
  • Driving Record: Must have a clean driving history with no DUIs or major violations, and a maximum of three at-fault incidents in the last three years.
  • Transmission Skills: Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles (some automatic options available).
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining safety in all job functions.
  • Weekend Flexibility: Willingness to work on Saturdays, especially during peak seasons.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and endure extended periods of standing or sitting.
