About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Care Assistant to join our team at Southern Ohio Medical Center. As a Hospice Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and support to patients and their families in their homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and hygiene assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist patients with light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
  • Document patient care and progress in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in in-services and department meetings to advance knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of approved nursing assistant, home care aide, or long-term care nursing assistant training or equivalent experience required.
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Approximately six months prior experience in acute, long-term care, or community-based care setting preferred.
  • Home care experience preferred.
