The Payroll Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing payroll functions and associated transactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee and manage payroll functions and related transactions. Review and audit payroll for accuracy in preparation and posting. Calculate or reconcile balances and implement necessary corrections. Conduct research and compile statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to compensation and benefits accounts. Prepare and process reports for retirement and health benefits contributions, flexible benefits, payroll deductions, and deferred compensation on a monthly basis. Maintain payroll records and provide information in compliance with regulations and confidentiality standards. Handle third-party requests related to employee compensation, including garnishments, levies, bankruptcies, and child support wage assignments. Serve as a liaison between the payroll department and external agencies, consultants, and businesses to resolve issues. Assist in the formulation and revision of payroll policies and procedures in alignment with generally accepted accounting principles. Complete routine payroll-related documentation, such as unemployment certifications, W-2 forms, W-4 forms, or stop payment requests. Prepare and submit quarterly and annual payroll reports. Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proficient in analyzing and interpreting payroll data and statistics. Familiarity with general accounting principles. Understanding of the relationship between payroll and financial systems. Ability to work independently and manage all payroll-related functions. Knowledge of compensation and benefits processes. Awareness of records retention practices. Proficient in the use of computers and relevant software applications. Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills and public relations capabilities. Effective oral and written communication skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Associate Degree *and* Three (3) years of payroll or related accounting experience.

Official transcripts are required within 60 days of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant payroll experience. Experience with Teamworks/PeopleSoft Financials & HCM systems.

NOTE: CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The salary range is $60,000 - $65,000, determined by education, experience, and other qualifications.

This is a full-time position offering paid state holidays, accrued annual and sick leave, and participation in the State of Georgia Health and Flexible Benefits Program.
