Job Title: Recreation/Recreational Therapist

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Recreation/Recreational Therapist to join our team in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

The Recreation/Recreational Therapist will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing Therapeutic Recreation programs to increase, maintain, or restore functions, maximize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients' individual needs and abilities to develop goal-oriented treatment plans.
  • Work within an interdisciplinary team to complete the recreational therapy plan of care, with evaluation of a patient's pre-morbid leisure lifestyle and provide goals and objectives directed at a therapeutically designed recreation/leisure-oriented treatment.
  • Develop and implement diversionary activity programs as needed.
  • Support efforts for patients' social integration during rehabilitation stay.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, or an equivalent program.
  • Preferred: 1 year Recreation Therapist experience.
  • Required: Certification-eligible by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or hold a Master's Degree in a related field (i.e. Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
