Job Title: Recreation/Recreational Therapist

Tenet Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled Recreation/Recreational Therapist to join our team in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing Therapeutic Recreation programs to increase, maintain, or restore functions, maximize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure education, adaptive recreation, and recreational activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Initiate assessment and develop goal-oriented treatment plans based on patient's individual needs and abilities.
  • Work within an interdisciplinary team in the completion of the recreational therapy plan of care, with evaluation of a patient's pre-morbid leisure lifestyle and provides goals and objectives directed at a therapeutically designed recreation/leisure-oriented treatment.
  • Develop and implement diversionary activity programs as needed.
  • Support efforts for patient's social integration during rehabilitation stay.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration, or an equivalent program.
  • Preferred: 1 year Recreation Therapist experience.
  • Required: Certification-eligible by the Consortium for Therapeutic Recreation/Activity Certification (CTRS) or National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) or hold a Master's Degree in related field (i.e. Music Therapy, Art Therapy).
