As the Facilities Operations Manager, you will oversee all facets of the daily operations and management of the facilities functions, including leading installations, operations, maintenance, and repairs of Halozyme-managed buildings, utilities, equipment, and machinery, while ensuring that janitorial services and building aesthetics are exceptional. In this role, you will work closely with other operational functions such as Environmental Health and Safety, Site Security, Warehouse Operations, and Lab Operations. This position is crucial in planning, budgeting, scheduling, and executing all facilities-related activities and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain existing facilities management systems, including Building Management Systems (BMS) alerts and alarms, to ensure the Halozyme Headquarters is consistently available for use and maintained in a safe, efficient, and effective condition.
  • Adhere to financial management and legal systems to establish and maintain contractor and vendor agreements while monitoring inventory and ordering supplies within the approved budget.
  • Systematically retain all documents related to work performed and equipment maintenance in accordance with business requirements (cGMP, EHS, Legal, etc.).
  • Follow safe working practices and utilize related safety equipment as required.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of heating, electrical, water, and air conditioning systems. Identify and report concerns to supervisors and develop repair plans while performing a variety of routine skilled maintenance including carpentry, painting, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical trades work.
  • Assemble, repair, maintain, and relocate furniture, such as desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required. Related degree and/or professional certifications and training preferred (a combination of experience and education may be considered).
  • 8+ years of facilities management experience, preferably within the biotech, life sciences, and/or similar industry (e.g., familiar with typical laboratory utility requirements).
  • Customer service mindset with a strong commitment to facilities management excellence and teamwork.
  • Proven experience working within organizations with a strong commitment to Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • Experience using facilities management software programs and Building Management System (BMS) software required.
  • Knowledge and experience in interpreting blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and following written instructions required.
  • A Valid Driver's License required and the ability to be on-site punctually each day.
What We Offer:
  • Comprehensive benefits program, including an Employee Stock Purchase Program and 401(k) matching.
  • Opportunities for growth in a culture that prioritizes learning, development, and progression through in-house programs and tuition reimbursement.
  • A collaborative, innovative team that works together to amplify your impact—on your career, the work you do, and the lives of patients.
