Job Description

Peraton is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Software Development: Develop web-based applications in an Angular 9,.Net Core, SQL Server, Elastic Search, and Windows environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work in a team environment to design, develop, and support a software system which is undergoing a modernization.
  • Cloud Migration: Participate in developing new functionality, migrating the application into the cloud, and introducing new technologies into the tech stack.
  • Agile Methodologies: Work closely with team members using Business Rules and User Stories as a basis.
  • Case Management System: Design, develop, and implement a case management system utilizing Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server and Git, Angular 9, C#, ASP.Net Core 2 Framework, and SQL Server 2016.
  • Agile Scrum SDLC: Participate in Agile Scrum SDLC activities.
  • Technology Evaluation: Participate in new tool evaluations for introducing new tools into the technology stack such as ElasticSearch, NoSQL databases and more.
  • Azure Environment: Steer the system into an Azure and container environment.
  • Team Development: Work in a team environment with other developers developing new and enhanced Web-based applications.
  • Documentation: Support developing Agile SDLC phase documentation.
  • Testing: Perform unit and integration testing of software/systems prior to release to the users for user acceptance testing.
  • Future Technologies: Work with Azure, Mongo DB, MySQL, and Node JS in the future.
Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD (additional experience accepted in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience: Experience with programming and software development including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting and/or upgrading of software systems.
  • Software Architecture: Five (5) years of experience architecting software solutions based on customer requirement.
  • Team Leadership: Led a technical team for at least five (5) years.
  • Automated Build and Deployment: Three (3) years of experience designing and implementing automated build and deployment pipelines and supporting platform.
  • Enterprise Application Support: Experience troubleshooting and supporting enterprise applications while maintaining 24/7 availability.
  • Security Clearance: A current/active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.
Desired Qualifications
  • Open-Source Technologies: Experience with open-source technologies like Docker, ElasticSearch, NoSQL Databases, and Azure.
  • JavaScript Framework Development: JavaScript framework development experience using Angular, Node and NPM.
  • Agile Environment: Experience with an Agile environment and have developed User Stories.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
