We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Transition Specialist to join our team at ServiceSource. As a Transition Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting high school students with disabilities as they transition into the workforce.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Employment Transition Services
- Conduct engaging and informative group sessions with high school students with disabilities, leading activities that cover the range of Pre-Employment Transition Services.
- Provide Workplace Readiness Training to individuals or groups of students with disabilities to identify and develop strategies for removing barriers to employment.
- Workplace Readiness and Job Coaching
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner agencies, school personnel, businesses, and educational institutions to enhance the menu of services and continuum of care.
- Locate and provide work-based learning opportunities for students to have paid internship experiences in the community.
- Documentation and Reporting
- Complete accurate and timely monthly billing reports, participant reports, case notes, and other supporting documentation.
- Education and Experience
- Associate's degree in Special Education, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field, plus 1 year of related experience with program development and training/working with students and/or individuals with disabilities.
- Or, in lieu of an Associate's Degree, the candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 3 years of experience in teaching, Special Education, or Human Services.
- Skills and Abilities
- Ability to travel daily to multiple locations in the local area, at times with little notice.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and/or weekends, when needed.
- Fluency in a second language (ASL or Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system personnel, students, their families, and vocational rehabilitation/services for the blind.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to become familiar with corporate specific programs and software.
