Job Title: Medical Research Scientist for Rare Diseases
Location: United States (Remote or Hybrid)
Contract Type: Full-time
Seniority Level: Mid-Senior level

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Development Scientist to support all aspects of clinical development, including safety, science, and operations. The successful candidate will work closely with our VP of Clinical Development and cross-functional study teams to plan and execute clinical trials. This role requires 10+ years of experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong background in Ophthalmology or Immunology.

About the Responsibilities
  • Develop clinical trial strategies and study designs, working with the VP of Clinical Development on protocol development, Investigator's Brochure updates, and procedure manual development.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership and cross-functional study teams to plan and execute clinical trials, ensuring scientific integrity from protocol concept through the clinical study report.
  • Support Clinical Operations colleagues on clinical trial activities and timelines, including informed consent development and review, data management activities, and review of data management plans.
  • Execute clinical trials and data collection, including training internal teams, vendors, and site staff, preparation of case report forms, and resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with Safety/Pharmacovigilance colleagues on clinical trial activities and timelines, including monitoring data to characterize safety information and managing safety communications with clinical investigators.
About the Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, with 10+ years of experience, or Master's degree with 8+ years of experience, or PhD with 5+ years of experience.
  • Relevant experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, with a strong background in Ophthalmology or Immunology.
  • Proven success record in executing clinical development strategies and submitting INDs.
  • Experience authoring clinical documents, conducting literature reviews, and supporting drug safety and pharmacovigilance activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements, clinical research concepts, and practices, as well as ICH/GCP guidelines.
About the Salary

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
