The Program Team Leader (PTL) role is a critical position within our organization, responsible for shaping the strategy, goals, priorities, and plans for our therapeutic programs. As a PTL, you'll lead a high-performing cross-functional team, working closely with an experienced Program Manager and other stakeholders to drive our mission forward.

This role requires a passionate drug developer with a global perspective, adaptable leadership skills, and a strategic approach to product development. You'll need to be able to balance long-term success for patients and our medicines with the complexities of drug development decisions. Your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively will be essential in this role.

We're seeking a proven leader with experience in Phase 1-3 drug development, preferably with a track record in driving programs through IND, early clinical, pivotal stages, and approval. Your expertise in rare genetic diseases is highly valued, as is your ability to build effective relationships with external stakeholders, including KOLs and patient advocacy groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing cross-functional team to drive program strategy, goals, priorities, and plans
  • Establish a robust program strategy for bringing life-changing medicines to patients in need
  • Ensure alignment between research, non-clinical, clinical, regulatory, CMC, and commercial strategies and plans
  • Make critical cross-functional decisions within the program team and senior leadership team
  • Own program recommendations across stages to achieve milestones and timelines
  • Maintain clear, open, and proactive communication with senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging developments in muscle diseases and oligonucleotide drug discovery and development

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry leadership positions in drug development
  • Proven track record in driving programs through IND, early clinical, pivotal stages, and approval
  • Experience in rare genetic diseases preferred
  • Entrepreneurial team leader with vision, strategy, and execution expertise
  • Collaborative corporate leader with excellent communication and relationship-building skills

Educational Requirements:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field is required, with a Master's or Ph.D. degree being preferred.

Estimated Salary Range: $250,000 - $350,000 per year
