About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team at Alertus Technologies. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's legal strategy and providing strategic guidance on all legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement legal strategies that support the company's business objectives and goals.
  • Provide proactive legal advice to the organization, including contract review and negotiation, regulatory compliance, and employment law.
  • Manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Represent the company in court and other legal proceedings, including litigation and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including industry-specific regulations.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, maintain accurate and organized legal records and documentation.
  • Identify potential legal risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Requirements

  • JD from an American Bar Association accredited law school.
  • Active member of the Maryland bar.
  • 1-2 years of experience in corporate law, with experience in a general counsel or corporate legal counsel role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including interpersonal relations, drafting contracts, negotiation, and formally presenting information.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of corporate law and procedures, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
