About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in producing high-quality images for the interpretation of licensed independent practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients, verify patient ID, and related information to ensure appropriate procedures are performed
  • Explain procedures to patients, prepare them for procedures, and obtain and record patient history and consent forms
  • Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety during procedures, monitor patient condition, and report changes to patient care services
  • Document sonographer's impressions and relay findings to physicians, obtain and record images necessary to demonstrate normal and pathological findings
  • Participate in performance improvement projects, assist departments in achieving successful results in audits, and participate in the education and orientation of students and new staff
Requirements
  • Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
  • Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (preferred)
  • 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
