Job Summary

Mercy Health is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing ultrasound procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients, verify patient information, and prepare them for procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients, obtain consent forms, and ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Document sonographer's impressions, relay findings to physicians, and maintain clinical competency
  • Participate in performance improvement projects, assist with education and orientation of new staff, and maintain high-level disinfection of probes
Requirements
  • Credentialed in Ultrasound technology by one of the following: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), or Sonographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Abdomen, Breast, Obstetrics/Gynecology (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates, America Medical Association (AMA) allied health training program in Ultrasound (preferred)
  • 1 year experience as an Ultrasound Tech (preferred)
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
