Position Overview

Abacus Technology Corporation is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to strategize and execute protective measures for IT systems within the Department of Energy's Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS). This role is a full-time opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the enhancement of the DoE EHSS security framework.
  • Safeguard network and IT infrastructure along with telecommunications systems against cyber threats.
  • Address and manage security incidents.
  • Diagnose, analyze, develop, document, and assist in the execution of remediation strategies.
  • Stay informed about evolving threats and cutting-edge tools.

Required Qualifications

Over 10 years of experience in information and cyber security. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar are advantageous. Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing security measures to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and their data. Familiarity with access control mechanisms to manage access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized alterations, destruction, or disclosure of information. Demonstrated ability in developing, monitoring, and testing cyber security strategies and controls using government-approved methodologies and tools. Experience in documenting test outcomes, proposing corrective measures, and creating residual risk and risk assessment documentation. Proficient in implementing NIST SP 800-53, CNSS controls, DISA STIGs, or CIS Benchmarks, as well as Continuous Diagnostic and Monitoring programs, and FIPS 199. Extensive knowledge and experience in adhering to Federal laws (e.g., FISMA, Privacy Act, Federal Records Act), regulations, OMB requirements, NIST publications, CNSS publications, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), and agency directives regarding cybersecurity. Exceptional technical writing, analytical thinking, and oral and written communication skills are essential. Strong customer service capabilities are required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and possess a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
