Job Overview

Position Summary - Responsible for the creation of various signage types including interior and exterior signs, illuminated and non-illuminated displays, sign boxes, and pylons.

Reporting Structure - Reports directly to the Fabrication Manager.

Work Environment - Primarily in a workshop setting.

Employment Type - Full Time - Hourly Position.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Experience in welding, metal fabrication, or carpentry.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Attention to detail is crucial.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret work orders, verify materials, and adhere to instructions for the efficient and quality completion of daily tasks.
  • Manufacture signage according to specifications and timelines established by the Fabrication Manager.
  • Utilize internal production software to track job progress, including logging hours, closing work orders, and documenting materials and procedures.
  • Communicate any changes or delays to the Fabrication Supervisor and Manager.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve project-related issues and ensure timely production.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace throughout the day.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of assigned tools.
  • Monitor inventory levels to minimize waste and manage costs effectively.
  • Adhere to established quality standards to avoid rework and missed deadlines.
  • Conduct quality checks upon project completion.

Additional Duties

  • Read and understand safety protocols, operational instructions, and blueprints.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety regulations.
  • Keep the work area, equipment, and tools in clean condition.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must successfully fulfill the essential duties outlined below:

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in welding, metal fabrication, auto collision repair, or carpentry.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Basic computer skills, particularly in a Windows environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong foundational math skills (addition, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals).
  • Hands-on work experience is essential.
  • Dependability, adaptability, and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to lift materials weighing up to 25 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
  • Skills in problem-solving, interpreting work orders, following instructions, and using a tape measure accurately.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the signage industry.
  • Familiarity with table saws and panel saws.
  • Knowledge of fastening techniques.
  • Understanding of electrical wiring and components.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this position include:

  • Ability to lift various weights and materials without mechanical assistance.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling, and communicate effectively.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
  • Occasional need to sit, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Calculate figures and amounts using basic math.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and fumes typical of a manufacturing environment.

Other Considerations

  • Candidates selected for this position will undergo a background screening.
  • Those with physical requirements may need to pass a Fit for Duty exam, which will be scheduled and covered by the company.
  • Operators of equipment or vehicles may be subject to pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Employees must obtain an OSHA 10 General Industry Card within 30 days of hire if not already acquired.
