Position Overview:

The University of California is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse Navigator to enhance patient care within our esteemed healthcare system. This role is pivotal in managing the pre-procedure intake process and ensuring seamless communication between patients and surgical teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative patient assessments via telephone, providing essential instructions and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to address any pre-operative or post-operative patient needs, ensuring optimal care delivery.
  • Utilize strong clinical judgment and communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Manage a substantial patient caseload while adapting to changes in program requirements.
  • Work collaboratively within a team of RNs and LVNs to facilitate pre-op and post-op communications for various surgical services.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license issued by the State of California.
  • Current BART or BLS certification at the time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within six months.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience in high-volume telephone triage is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Certification in PeriAnesthesia Nursing (CPAN) and/or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA).
  • Previous experience in acute care settings such as Pre-op, PACU, ICU, or Emergency Room.

Work Environment:

  • Flexibility to work various hours, shifts, and locations based on operational needs.
  • Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Compensation is competitive and based on experience, skills, and organizational needs.

Compensation:

The annual full pay range for this position is $123,902 - $173,659, with an hourly equivalent of $83.17. Factors influencing compensation include experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications.
