Role Summary:
The Clinical Nurse will provide essential care in a Hematology Oncology setting, focusing on patient education, symptom management, and care coordination. This role involves working closely with patients and their families to navigate treatment plans and appointments, ensuring a seamless experience within the healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triaging patient symptoms and managing care effectively.
- Educating patients and families about treatment options and procedures.
- Coordinating care for diagnostic scans and follow-up appointments.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Exercising independent judgment in patient care while adhering to professional standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Active RN License in California.
- Current BART or BLS certification with a commitment to obtain BART within six months.
- A minimum of three years of nursing experience, preferably in Hematology/Oncology.
- Experience in outpatient oncology settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- OCN certification.
- Five or more years of nursing experience.
- Two or more years of experience in Hematology/Oncology.
- Experience with surgical oncology.
- Familiarity with Epic systems.
- Experience in triage and care coordination.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Work Environment:
Flexibility in working hours and locations is essential, as this role may require travel between various facilities. Employment is contingent upon passing a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical examination.
