Salary Range: $32.37 To 43.38 Hourly

Reporting to the Interim Associate Director of Digital Content and Division Manager, the Associate Web Content Editor (Fixed-Term) plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and relevance of website content. This position encompasses a variety of editorial and administrative responsibilities, including writing, editing, proofreading, and content layout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly updates and publishes content across all web platforms, ensuring the integration of text and visual elements into the Content Management System (CMS).
  • Collaborates with various departments such as Marketing, Communications, and Education to ensure content remains current and pertinent.
  • Engages in writing, editing, and proofreading of diverse digital content, including articles, event listings, and exhibition details.
  • Applies Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices to enhance content visibility.
  • Constructs and formats content within the CMS, ensuring accurate information display and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Facilitates the approval process for content, gathering and consolidating feedback for web pages and related initiatives.
  • Assists in securing rights for image usage in appropriate channels.
  • Handles administrative tasks such as vendor payment processing, meeting scheduling, and note-taking.
  • Supports the Digital Project Manager in generating web analytics reports.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Work Experience: A minimum of three years in editorial roles within digital publishing.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaboration within cross-departmental teams.
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving skills, and organizational capabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with authors and subject matter experts on content development.
  • Solid understanding of English grammar and proficiency in copyediting and proofreading.
  • Strong writing abilities, capable of producing clear, concise, and engaging content tailored to various audiences.
  • Familiarity with Chicago and AP style guidelines.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles.
  • Experience with content management systems such as Wordpress or Drupal.
  • Proficient in creating and editing visual assets using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism.
  • Adaptability to shifting demands and priorities.

Additional Information:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, typically requiring at least three days on-site and up to two days of remote work per week. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options, along with paid time off.
