Under the guidance of the Interim Associate Director of Digital Content and Division Manager, the Associate Web Content Editor (Fixed-Term) plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality and relevance of website content. This position involves a variety of editorial and administrative responsibilities, including writing, editing, proofreading, and content management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regularly updates content across all web platforms, ensuring accuracy and engagement.
  • Collaborates with various departments such as Marketing, Communications, and Education to keep website content current and relevant.
  • Writes, edits, and proofreads various digital materials, including articles and event listings.
  • Implements Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices in content formatting and editing.
  • Builds and formats content within the Content Management System (CMS), ensuring proper display and functionality.
  • Facilitates the approval process for content, gathering and consolidating feedback.
  • Assists in managing rights for image usage in appropriate channels.
  • Handles administrative tasks, including vendor payments and meeting coordination.
  • Supports the Digital Project Manager in generating web analytics reports.
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Experience: Minimum of three years in digital publishing with a focus on editorial tasks.

Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong collaborative skills, with a proven ability to work within cross-functional teams.
  • High initiative and problem-solving capabilities, along with excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in content development with authors and subject matter experts.
  • Strong command of the English language, including copyediting and proofreading expertise.
  • Demonstrated writing skills with the ability to create engaging content tailored to various audiences.
  • Familiarity with Chicago and AP style guidelines.
  • Knowledge of SEO strategies and best practices.
  • Experience with content management systems such as Wordpress or Drupal.
  • Ability to create and edit visual content using Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Sound judgment and diplomatic communication skills.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and demands.
