About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fluid Systems Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our New Glenn program, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and testing of fluid systems for our launch vehicle.

Responsibilities
  • Engage in the entire design cycle of fluid subsystems, including conceptual design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural layout and analysis, integration, test and mission support.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to define requirements, dependencies, and schedule needs associated with delivering coordinated fluid systems.
  • Lead team-based identification, decomposition, and estimation of work scope for full lifecycle fluids hardware development.
  • Manage project schedule, resources, and cost, presenting status of effort, including risks, variances, and recovery plans to program management.
  • Integrate hardware schedules with program and vehicle schedules.
  • Work to continuously improve team processes and manage team assignments to move quickly while meeting human space flight standards.
  • Continuously track all hardware technical performance measures to ensure the development team is meeting its defined performance goals.
  • Perform procurement, integration support, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Coordinate fluid component and subsystem level testing, including test planning, test execution, data reduction, and analysis.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 4+ years of proven experience in detail design/development of aerospace or equivalent-type fluid systems and project management through complete product life cycle.
  • Responsible Engineer designation to manage a system with multiple designers working under their direction.
  • Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, integration processes, and quality control relative to tubes/piping and machined components.
