Job Summary

The Lead Technician I plays a crucial role in the success of Restoration Management's projects. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, this position requires strong leadership and technical skills to oversee each phase of the mitigation and/or environmental project from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Maintain regular communications with key stakeholders, including Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Project Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinator, to discuss project schedules, changes in scope of work, material, and personnel resources.
  • Task Execution: Perform necessary tasks to expedite project completion, including material pickup and ordering, moving client contents, and performing high-quality repairs while adhering to code regulations and industry standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small group of technicians, providing supervision and direction based on defined job parameters.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain company-assigned vehicles and restock supplies as necessary.
  • Documentation: Complete and submit crew sheets and job notes at the end of each day.
  • Company Representation: Serve as a role model in following and enforcing company policy and safety procedures while performing services.
  • Talent Development: Assist in the development of technicians through mentoring, coaching, equipping, and encouraging skill development.
  • Training and Development: Assist in jobsite safety briefings and provide training within the scope of knowledge.
  • Time Management: Complete timecards in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring crew members do the same.
  • Work Order Completion: Turn in completed work orders, including measurements, moisture readings, and necessary detailed paperwork for the Project Manager to complete billing.
  • Professional Growth: Maintain trade skills through regular training, as provided by the company, and continue building knowledge of company services, operations, and standard practices to support individual professional growth.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 1-year experience in a lead technician role in the construction field, and/or restoration/mitigation field, or experience gained through successfully meeting job requirements of Tech III.
  • Driver's License: Valid Driver's License, with a driving record in good standing (Class C).
  • Insurance: Must be insurable.
  • Safety Awareness: Displays understanding of safety guidelines, applies to daily tasks, and holds accountable crew members for doing the same.
  • Company Knowledge: Possesses awareness of company handbook/policies, SOPs, and adheres to guidelines. Communicates desired outcomes and shares with crew through application of SOPs in daily activities.
  • Talent Development: Supports development of technicians (crew) through demonstration, encouraging opportunities for growth.
  • Tool Proficiency: Good knowledge in the use of hand tools, power tools, and other miscellaneous equipment to complete the job.
  • Continuous Growth: Continuous growth mindset, open to feedback, and applies what they learn for themselves and teaches others.
  • Language Skills: Good grasp of the English language (read, write, verbal).
  • Bilingualism: Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Respirator Physical: Able to pass a Respirator Physical and obtain a respiratory fit exam.
  • Instruction Interpretation: Can interpret and apply basic instructions (i.e., Material Data Sheets).
  • Industry Certifications: Industry certifications preferred, with the ability to pass medical exams if required for certification.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: Repetitive L/R hand motion (use of hand and power tools), agility, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing stairs, ladders, spaces, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching down and overhead.
  • Lifting: Requires ability to lift heavy objects frequently (up to 50lbs).
  • Confined Spaces: Can work in confined spaces.
  • Unsanitary Conditions: Can work in unsanitary conditions, regularly.
  • OT and Weekend Work: Required OT for scheduled work, after-hour response, and weekend options available.
