Job Summary
The Community Engagement department within the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education is recruiting a Component Leader/Teacher for the FIU All-Stars middle school enrichment program.
This role involves implementing literacy, fitness, and social skills activities, as well as assisting in the implementation of Choice Classes and developing lesson plans.
Responsibilities include supervising students, preparing weekly lesson plans, working with outside contractors, and completing attendance records.
The Component Leader/Teacher must also follow The Code of Student Conduct when disciplining students and report any disruptive behavior or concerns to the program manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related discipline.
Alternatively, Miami-Dade County Public School employees with at least one year of experience working with children within the school system or certified teachers are preferred.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary for this role is $19-$23 per hour.
As a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs, but you may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits if you work an average of 30 hours or more per week.
