Job Title: Security Director

The Security Director is responsible for providing comprehensive risk assessment services for players, support staff, and all facilities, both at home and away. This role requires developing safety protocols and advance plans, responding to situations to mitigate risk, reporting incidents, and managing additional security staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive protective advance plans and conduct threat vulnerability assessments for training sessions, match days, and travel.
  • Provide unarmed executive protection for players, coaching staff, and support personnel during training sessions, matches, and community events.
  • Escort the team in various environments, including airports and transfers between locations.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and stadium security at home and away venues to ensure local knowledge of ingress and egress, and promptly communicate any vulnerabilities or safety concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies with a de-escalation approach, assisting medical personnel as needed.
  • Report, respond to, and document all incidents and suspicious activities to appropriate personnel at both the NWSL and club levels.
  • Secure and manage additional security officers and staff.
  • Oversee the budget for the Security team.
  • Conduct searches of property and individuals as required.
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in a safety or security-related field.
  • Experience providing security in an arena, stadium, or similar venue with a capacity of 15,000+, with a preference for those who have directly managed staff.
  • Experience implementing safety plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Skilled in leading, motivating, and developing employees.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues and implement effective solutions.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate management of logistics.
  • Adaptable with the ability to work under pressure.
Work Environment:

This is an in-person position working from Starfire Sports Complex and Lumen Field as needed. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. This role will be required to travel with the First Team to away matches. Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire. Must be able to facilitate own local travel. Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000.
