Ensuring that clothing is clean, neatly presented, and returned to residents is one of the many ways we demonstrate our commitment to their safety and well-being.
We adhere to strict infection control protocols to safeguard both residents and staff.Every team member is accountable for maintaining these standards. Our residents primarily consist of seniors with diverse care requirements.
For over 156 years, we have proudly served the senior community in Greater New Haven as a mission-driven non-profit organization governed by a Board of Trustees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect soiled linens from the Soiled Linen Room at least three times daily.
- Wash, dry, fold, and iron residents' clothing.
- Handle all bedding, linens, and household items with care.
- Maintain an organized and accurate method for clothing collection and processing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in using labeling equipment for resident garments.
- Clean the interiors and exteriors of washers and dryers.
- Clean lint filters at least three times per shift and scour laundry tubs weekly.
- Vacuum the working area at least once a week or as needed.
- Ensure washers, dryers, and irons are turned off and secured when not in use.
- Periodically check and replenish chemical supplies.
- Assist the Housekeeping Department as required.
- Respond to reasonable requests from the Director of Environmental Services.
