About the Role:

This is a unit-based Technician position that will provide direct assistance in patient care of diverse ED patient population. The successful candidate will also be directly responsible for performing duties such as Point of Care Testing, General Phlebotomy, and Sample Collection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct assistance in patient care, including vital sign collection, patient updates, and documentation.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, General Phlebotomy, and Sample Collection as required.
  • Work autonomously, anticipating the needs of patients and the team.
  • Participate in the assessment of patient's physical and emotional needs and communicate findings to appropriate healthcare providers.
  • Recognize and report conditions that affect or compromise technical aspects of the test/procedure.
  • Abide by patient safety standard guidelines to ensure safety of patient and self.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, clean, and therapeutic environment.
  • Prioritize workload appropriately, evidenced by immediate attention to those with actual or potential urgency.
Requirements:
  • Current EMT Intermediate or EMT Advanced license in the State of Georgia.
  • High School Diploma or GED. Certificate or Diploma from Accredited Learning Institute in Emergency Medical Technology (Must have to meet requirements for POC testing).
  • EMT with at least one (1) year of experience providing direct care to patients in the pre-hospital, ED, or Office environment preferred.
  • Must have documented experience and proficiency in peripheral venous sampling and IV Access.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred Licensure or other certifications: EMT Intermediate or EMT Advanced license in the State of Georgia.
  • Preferred Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. Certificate or Diploma from Accredited Learning Institute in Emergency Medical Technology.
  • Preferred Experience: EMT with at least one (1) year of experience providing direct care to patients in the pre-hospital, ED, or Office environment.
