Full-Time Registered Nurse (Residential Care)

BayMark Health Services is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care for our patients in a residential setting. Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the admission process, which may encompass paperwork completion, individual orientation, and monitoring of urinalysis collection.
  • Conduct thorough searches of personal belongings upon admission and ensure the proper disposal of prohibited items.
  • Administer and interpret tuberculosis skin tests.
  • Document nursing assessments, treatment plans, physician orders, progress notes, and other relevant data in patient charts.
  • Deliver direct care to the individuals we serve.
  • Monitor for signs and symptoms of intoxication and withdrawal.
  • Provide medically supervised evaluation and withdrawal management to individuals in the Detoxification Unit under the guidance of the Director of Nursing.
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions.
  • Maintain a hygienic and safe work environment in accordance with healthcare protocols.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
  • Update and maintain precise Medication Administration Records.
  • Manage and administer medications as prescribed by the Medical Director.
  • Offer guidance to technicians on the assigned shift.
  • Collaborate with individuals to develop treatment plans addressing medical concerns.
  • Provide emotional support through active listening, counseling, and addressing inquiries.
  • Consult with in-house staff and external professionals to ensure comprehensive, quality care for clients.
  • Refer individuals to external resources for needs that cannot be met by the Agency.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and interact appropriately.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must possess an unrestricted RN or LPN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens are required.
  • Preferably, candidates should have at least one year of experience in detox, emergency, or medical-surgical nursing.
  • Working knowledge of medical detoxification for substance abuse is preferred.
  • Understanding of signs and symptoms of substance intoxication and withdrawal, including pharmacological factors.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills are necessary.
  • Capability to meet the physical demands of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to respond physically to individuals' needs in crisis situations.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with the American Society of Addiction Medicine placement criteria and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual regarding substance-related disorders is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the nursing Code of Ethics is essential.
  • Understanding of federal drug and alcohol confidentiality laws and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act is required.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, individuals served, external professionals, and the public.
  • Availability for night shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and criminal background check is mandatory.

Compensation and Benefits:

The starting salary is generally set at $27.00 per hour.

The compensation for selected candidates will be determined based on various factors, including experience, education, specialty, and training.
