About the Role

We are seeking multiple Construction Observers/Inspectors at various levels to join our Tacoma Owner's Representative Office (TORO) team. The TORO team provides Owner's Representative, Project Management, Construction Management, and Alternative Project Delivery consulting services for public sector clients across Western Washington and the Puget Sound region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide construction inspection services across multiple projects in Western Washington and the Puget Sound region.
  • Conduct detailed on-site assessments of construction work, including buildings, sitework, utilities, and off-site projects.
  • Document on-site observations, including weather, workforce, equipment, work progress, safety issues, and discussions, with submission of reports to team members.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, including plans, specifications, and quality assurance requirements, while monitoring progress against the contract schedule.
  • Collaborate directly with Contractors, A/E teams, and Owners to verify contract compliance and report on materials and equipment delivered to the site.
Requirements
  • High school graduate and 3+ years of experience in architecture, engineering, construction, or project management with experience reading and interpreting construction documents.
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to Tacoma, Bremerton, Seattle, Everett, or Vancouver, with the ability to commute to project sites (valid driver's license and vehicle required).
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work outdoors in different weather conditions, and safely navigate construction sites.
  • Knowledge of construction safety protocols, use of personal protective equipment, and familiarity with common tools like tablets and cameras.
