About the Role

The Operations Manager in our Transportation Fleet Maintenance is a crucial position that requires a leader who can think strategically, motivate and develop a team of managers, and drive business results. This role reports directly to the Regional Maintenance Manager and is responsible for providing a world-class preventative maintenance program to our private fleet tractors, trailers, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Tractor and Trailer shop, ensuring efficient and effective maintenance processes.
  • Manage a team of 4 direct report Managers and up to 30+ hourly associates, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Oversee the P&L, parts, warranty, capital projects, in-service, and de-service of equipment, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with dispatch operations to identify needs and develop plans to support business objectives.
  • Assist in offsite facilities where company equipment is staged, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Promote a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
Requirements
  • Class 8 mechanical background, with a strong understanding of heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance.
  • 1+ years of experience as an Operations Manager, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of service shop operations and procedures, with excellent customer service and leadership skills.

Additional Compensation

Additional compensation for this role includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses, as well as Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) and stock awards. The annual salary range for this position is $66,560.00-$139,000.00.

Minimum Qualifications

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field, with 1 year of experience supervising employees in heavy-duty truck and trailer or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • Associate's Degree in Business or a related field, with 2 years of experience supervising employees in heavy-duty truck and trailer or equivalent maintenance experience.
  • 2 years of experience as a Walmart Refurb/Service Shop Area Manager.
  • Diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment maintenance technical certifications (e.g. ASE, Air Conditioning, DOT Brake, DOT Preventative Maintenance).
